I see mergers... too many companies with too little resources trying to architect similar networks to gain a competitive advantage in next generation networks. It would be easier to partner with a competitor - pool resources to get to the holy land. I see more mergers...but then... there's that pesky HSR thingy..

Kenneth, Mr. Sagawa did not see for more then year how LU is loosing in optical space, and was very supportive to LU after January 2000 .
How come he claims to be such an expert in optical space?

Paul Sagawa, Sanford C. Bernstein: CSCO, NT, LU, MOT, NOK

Paul Sagawa of Sanford C. Bernstein comments on the telecom equipment stocks:

-Earnings look good for the rest of the year

-However, after 2 quarters of strong earnings, he expects deceleration in earnings
momentum

-Fall rally in these stocks due to strong earnings, followed by profit taking

-Short term buys: CSCO, NT

CSCO: acceleration of top line growth and consistency of performance over the past few
years; slowdown in year over year growth and any indication of co eating into its
backlog may suggest a time to take profits

-Long term buys: LU, MOT, NOK: fundamentally solid, good products, reasonable
valuation, and potential earnings surprise

if industry revenue is growing at only 10 to 13% while nt's revenue is growing at 30-40%, our boys are going to eat everyone's lunch.

Briefing.com refers to SB as a tier 2 brokerage...nice.

Sagawa on NT in July...seemed bullish then when the stock was in the mid 60's.

Message 14105729

Sagawa on LU. does anyone still take this guy seriously?

Message 14468349

anyone else adding on the decline here or soon?
