<<How could I have believed that meaningful and enforceable rules, might reverse the current gun crazy American culture?>>

Well that little deal on the waiting period and background check. Clinton claims that some 200,000 felons have been denied guns. So far there have been around 40 arrests. Either 40 felons have tried to buy 5,000 guns each or the laws haven't ben enforced 199,960 times.

"So, in your wisdom, if passing meaningful and enforceable rules won't do anything, what could the Republicans do,...." Not much the repubs can do...or dems, or any other group. As we have seen over the last few years, when principle, personal responsibility, character values become non-issues, you can pretty much make all the rules you want but to no avail.

On the other hand, a change in leadership might just help us turn a corner.
