The SEC really can't do anything about that crap right now, because the selective disclosure rule doesn't go into effect until October 23rd, I've just read. I guess all the low-life's are taking advantage.

This guy has a few things to say about selective disclosure.

flashing fake orders

Great post KevinMark but one minor disagreement.

Is it really illegal to flash orders? I do it all the time in after hours trading. If someone steps in front of my bid or ask, I start flashing orders all over the place to funk with their heads. The orders are real because my trading system won't allow me to post them if I don't have the money in the account to back them up. Wouldn't the same apply to those MM dudes who flash the big ones?
