Kemble,

ALERT:

Re: I just received a reply from Robert Williams of DELL Investor Relations...I had sent MSD this:

RE: "While we are uncomfortable with the last 2 years of Dell's stock performance, we are at least now at a level which would be considered high for a company like Compaq, and we are growing at a rate 2-3 times of a
Compaq, and are in the process of talking market share away form Compaq worldwide, so a price of 32 isn't so bad. And DELL is doing so well, we are able to squeeze margins and buy accounts so easily now with a 47% reduction
in server price......."

MSD NEVER SAID THESE WORDS. I MADE THEM UP. MY FIRST SENTENCE WAS "ANTICIPATING MSD'S RESPONSE....."

It was a hypothetical satiristic post regarding the rhetoric MSD is very capable of regarding Dell's stock price. It was meant to point out the lunacy of "buying market share" with huge price reductions in the server market. Do you think MSD would really say DELL @ 32 was ok since that price is considered high for CPQ?
What amazes me to no end is that IR is telling you to "read the announcement closely!!!" What announcement? I made that up and my first sentence told everyone so. If IR doesn't know what MSD is releasing, who does? One demerit for IR!!

Re: BUY DELL....I believe we're starting a strong October folks

Kemble....please be careful. There used to be a guy on the RB site, PeterL, who time and time again called for DELL to 80 by last October and a split last March. His enthusiasm for DELL was even less than yours. He no longer posts any messages. I know your feelings for DELL; they mirror mine, but emotions should never encroach on reality.
