f Amazon is really like you say I guess there might be three or four top guys right now in
AMZN scratching their heads and thinking "is it me?"...

You truly made me laugh out loud. I believe the above is correct. Maybe I will look at their investor relations section and see if they list a head of that department.

It was a few years ago that Joy Covey was moved from CFO to ??? I do not recall the position nor was I clear on what it was she was to do next. I do know she was excellent and creative accounting and invented the GAAP. I thought she answered well during the conference calls too but someone must have believed differently. Anyhow, she was the best paid accountant I have ever seen.

Internet Users Have Concerns Over Privacy, Security

Washington, D.C. (September 22, 2000)—A newly released national survey has determined that more than 61% of Internet users do not shop online due to privacy and security concerns.

The survey interviewed 800 potential Internet consumers and was released during the Global Privacy Summit, held here recently. The study found that 46% of those interviewed said that Internet companies must first guarantee the privacy of personal information before they consider buying merchandise over the Internet. That choice topped all other survey considerations, followed by satisfaction guaranteed (39%), a consumer hot line for complaints (34%) and discounts for frequent customers (19%).

The study was funded by the Privacy Council, along with privacy service provider Privista. Both companies recently severed ties to Amazon.com after the online retailer revamped its privacy policy last week to allow transfer of customer data in the event that the company is sold, according to reports.
