Re Cat: It appears that what's going on in Peoria is your primary frame of reference re unions. Some strikes succeed, some don't. The question you also must ask is whether Cat actually can be considered the "winner." Sure, they may have busted the union, but at what price? How much Cat stock do you own and what is it doing these days?

There's still a reason why one in every seven workers in this country belongs to a union. Unions don't occur in vacuums.

Also remember that Poland's a democracy today because of labor unions.
