Glenn: Does any of this information on BOL imply that AMZN is going to have a hard time
fighting its way into Europe??

GST,

In a word; Yes!! Also, Bertlemann's has set aside $12 billion US dollars for development and marketing of their web sites. This money has come from earnings so there is no debt. They still plan on tapping the equity markets too when the climate is right for a spin-off of the on-line divisions.

Someone can correct me on this but my understanding is most Europeans would prefer to deal with a European firm rather than a US based firm. Bertlemann's is based in Munich but has 14 other offices in various countries in Europe.
