07:04 ET Paradyne (PDYN) 10: Manufacturer of broadband network access products warns that Q3 results will disappoint. Also sees shipment weakness in Q1 and FY01. Company says several network service provider customers have changed their plans for rolling out DSL services. PDYN no longer believes these customers will purchase significant amounts of its equipment. Company says that based on meetings with customers, they did not replace Paradyne with another DSL supplier, but they have changed their equipment purchasing plans.

PDYN is in the DSL field per Hoovers.

Paradyne Networks wants to get the world hotwired. The company makes broadband and narrowband network access products. Its Hotwire digital subscriber line equipment speeds data transmissions over copper phone lines. Its FrameSaver hardware and software monitors and measures network service performance. Paradyne sells its products worldwide, primarily to network service providers (65% of sales) and businesses including Lucent Technologies (27% of sales), Tech Data (8%), AT&T, and Citigroup. Broadband products account for 70% of sales. The company is a former subsidiary of both AT&T and Lucent. Entities associated with Texas Pacific Group own about 35% of Paradyne.

****************
One trend I am seeing is that sales to LU for most companies are flat or declining this quarter. That CMTN CFO better be right on making those numbers.
