Scott,
Hi!!

I sent this to Robert Williams of DELL INVESTOR RELATIONS last night:

Robert,
Hi!!
Is there a conspiracy or what? Sound ridiculous? I wish I hadn't heard this word a few dozen times in the last six months....
Explain this please:
Andy Neff of Bear Stearns was just on CNBC and pretty much alluded to as much, that DELL's price reductions were component cost related. Unfortunately the only two hardware stocks he recommended were Apple and Gateway, with a special mention of Compaq as a turnaround situation that is beginning to jell (sp?). To add insult to injury, he also stated that Compaq could not be called just a PC company anymore.....isn't this what DELL is trying to achieve with Wall Street analysts???

Best, Kemble

Scott, he replied this AM with this:

Thanks for the heads-up Kemble. Check out the analyst meeting next week.

Best,

Rob

Oct 4th is their Analyst Meeting...I believe anyone going long has to tough this out...And, if you're considering a possible upturn this is IMO the time to get in...The management chatting upbeat is more than usual...Surely more than all the past three previous quarters combined...

Best, Kemble
