Godel's theorem undermines the validity of his own theorem
I think that passage misinterprets Godel's theorem. In simple terms it states that there will always be some things with cannot be proven within the framework of any consistent set of ideas.

It does not say that nothing can be proven, or that things that are proven are still wishy-washy, or something else. Godel's theorem was proven (although I'll admit that the math gets too hairy for me to understand it all and I accept the collective opinion of others on the subject)
