I agree that "cash minus debt" should include all debt. I also like the idea of using the flow ratio with the one caveat that it needs to be viewed in a different context with younger companies than with more established companies.

Even better would be to show the flow ratio (and other interesting numbers/ratios) over a number of quarters so we can see the trends.
