This company setting up for big pofits in the future IMO LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 28, 2000--Rubber Technology International Inc. (OTCBB:RTEK.O) stated today, that the Eldan Rasper's arrival is anticipated on Friday, September 29. The rasper's capacity of 3.6 million pounds of crumb rubber per month, when added to the production line, will increase throughput by six times. According to Trevor Webb, president and CEO, "We will install the rasper over the weekend so that increased production can begin by Monday. We will process with crews working 7 days a week, 24 hours per day and begin shipping immediately to fill standing sales orders. We have sales orders for 100% of the machine's output for upcoming months." "In addition to the large supply of ground rubber material that we currently have, the scrap tires that we receive monthly total approximately 1.6 million pounds. With the three machines that are already on line, and the immediate addition of the rasper, we will be able to process 3.6 million pounds of crumb rubber per month," according to Tom Reichman, chief operating officer. The Eldan Heavy Rasper reduces whole tires to 3/8" granules at the rate of 5,000 lbs. per hour, which is 3.6 million pounds per month. The crumb rubber that it produces is more than 99% wire free. The wire will then be recycled and not sent to landfills as was previously necessary. At current market conditions the price for the scrap wire ranges from $20. to $80. per ton, predicated on supply and demand. According to Webb, "The use of the rasper will allow us to save up to $8,000. monthly by not having to throw the scrap wire into landfills. We will now process scrap tires in a more environmentally friendly manner." Webb went on to say, "We are in such an enviable position, being paid to receive scrap tires, producing crumb rubber to fill pre-existing orders and selling the scrap wire. With the recent events in the tire industry having brought attention to the problem of disposing of scrap tires in an environmentally friendly manner, the quantities of used tires being brought to us are dramatically increasing." Rubber Technology International Inc. is addressing the problem of tire disposal, offering an ecologically sound solution by taking defective or worn out tires that would otherwise end up in landfills and turning them into useful products. The crumb rubber which is produced by grinding the scrap tires is used in molded rubber products, is sold for use in rubberized asphalt, molded safety devices, playground safety surfaces, equestrian arena footing, soil amendments, and rubber hoses and mats.
