Elastic has moved up to number 3 on IPOHome's Poll. Number 1 is Coach, with only 4 votes cast and no IPO date in sight so we can eliminate them. That leaves us second only to COSN.

ELAS only has 7.8mm shares going out. To assume it will "slide" as you put it to $5 and therefore a market cap of less than 40 million is a bit TOO pessimistic I'd think. Al, remember ELAS is a Nortel company. I'd be more inclined to think that after the 25 day SEC imposed "quiet period" the houses and analysts can then comment/recommend and I don't see why $30 would not be a very reasonable ballpark guess. Six months from now...who knows perhaps $25 or perhaps $ 60???? At $60, it's still only a sub $ 500 mm market cap co.
In any event what will be will be. I'm very confident in ELAS. If it's good enough for Nortel then it's good enough for me. <g>
The ramifications of $ 60 on ITE is just too pleasant to contemplate. We long term holders will be well served through ITE and Elastic I believe. Just for a moment consider that ELAS could be so successful that ITE chooses not to sell it off after 6 months and hold it instead. What if it split?
We would not want to forget there are a basket of other companies we own and whether they IPO or are bought out pre-IPO ITE should do nicely.
This Elastic Networks is the first out of the gate for ITE and apparently will do well. It speaks well for ITE managements investment choices and I look forward to the forthcoming liquidity events of the remaining companies and future acquisitions.
