No, not my point. You stated that industrializaiton had nothing to do with improvements in longevity, it was the water. My point is that mechanization, mass produciton principles and indstrial applications of chemistry led to improvement of the water supply. Its as much a manifestation of the industrial revolution as anything else.

And yes, public health mandates played a role too.
