Motorola files suit against Advanced Micro president

SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Sept 28 (Reuters) - Telecommunications giant Motorola Inc.
(NYSE:MOT - news) said on Thursday it filed suit against Hector Ruiz, president and chief
operating officer of Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE:AMD - news), for breach of contract.

The suit, filed in Travis County, Texas, alleges that Ruiz, formerly the president of Motorola's
Semiconductor Products Sector, signed an agreement in January under which Motorola paid
``a substantial six-figure amount'' in return for his promise not to solicit or induce certain
members of Motorola senior management to join Advanced Micro.

Months later, Motorola said, he directly breached that agreement by luring away a senior Motorola finance officer.

Motorola said it will seek injunctive relief and damages in the suit.
