the actual remaining average would be 650/.85=~765, sorry for that. Let now assume that 3.4 mil k6 average speed is 500 MHz and remaining 3.6 are Athlon average then (800-3.4/7*500)*7/3.6=~1HGz which makes you right, someone screwed up. But if we stretched the interpretation a bit then the paragraph starts with the copper process and a Dresden fab which might mean that the spead distribution quoted is for Dresden only.
