I take it that's 3 grand US, that would be about 4350 Canadian, that should get you a good system, but if you want more you have to pay for it.

If you find another machine with the same goodies for cheaper, they are cutting back somewhere, either screen or video ram, hard drive, etc...

Make sure you compare all the systems as you pay for what you get. Hard drive size is not a problem for a laptop, get a 4-5 GIG hard drive that should be more than enough for a portable.

Get a good screen, video ram, CPU and ram.
