We have been busy again today or maybe being a pest might be more descriptive. I spoke my favorite US distributor today who I need to keep anonymous and here is the summary:

"Aviation kit (hi-speed antenna) will be out 11/1. Qcom providing some components which were being upgraded which delayed it for a month. Their phone sales continue to accelerate. In meetings now with some Carib governments re: contracts. Hinted that upcoming gusa promo will accelerate phone sales. He continues to b very bullish"

My take is that the gusa push expected around the middle of Oct may finally be something like Maurice would craft. My contact would not go into specifics but I got the strong impression it will involve both ph cost and minutes. The current deal only drops the phone $500 and you have to commit to 2 years with a higher mo fee in order to get any break on the minutes. My beyond basic plan cost me 1.69/min which I suspect may soon be getting cheaper. Let's hope! As we all feel, their is a price point that could really start tipping things in the right direction. My gut says it is a $500/phone and about a buck/min. I have no idea if the next promo will even approach that.

I also spoke with others re: the BS financing and I think we can expect all tranches to be placed within the next few weeks. Ptr deal was to show support, not a desperate act as the street spins. Ptr questions could have been "Money not needed now so why ask? Why not wait until it is needed so we can do whatever the circumstances at that time would deem appropriate." I can't argue with that logic. I was told by the distributor that the current show of support will be effective with some potential buyers. Also of note, G* is the ONLY option for IFN.

The elephant continues to slowly turn imo but I don't expect any significant movements in the next few weeks.

I showed my phone today to a US West exec who had never heard of Globalstar. He was very impressed with what it could do. Interesting that he had never heard of it. That tells me that the market is barely being penetrated, something we have all been complaining about.
