I don't know what the catalyst was for the early rally, but once the stock got through 14 1/2 to 15, some of the buying could have been related to a technical break out. Let's face it. This stock has been consolidating for a few months and the cold season is here. We know that news on the preventative clinical study is imminent, as is the possibility of publication of Dr. Hirt's study and international sales of Zicam. Also, the contract with the "large consumer products" company for dental gum should be near. Production of nicotine gum will begin this quarter or next. There's also speculation that Gel Tech will form a partnership with a pharmaceutical company. Add in the high short interest, and this stock is ripe for a rally. I don't understand the logic of being short GUMM right now. If it was going to go down, it would have done so during the summer months. Now that cold season is here and the the stock has a solid base under it, being short is just plain dumb IMO.
