carl, RE: A stock going from 50 to 100 is up 100%, but when is goes from 100 to 50 it is only down 50%. So on a round trip on the above cited case, that must be a net gain of 50%! How do I take that to the Bank?

As one who has made many similar round trips, I don't know, but tell me if you find out.

On another note, AAPL just had trading halted. Odds are it's the latest to join the warning brigade.

edit: Yep they did.

It sure has gotten quiet on this thread. Was the market not open today?

Goto make some money somewhere, so I am studying for the ABC show "Would You Like To Become A Millionaire", and I find Gurunet.com very helpful

Looked up: "Misery" as in "Misery loves company" and here are the very informative words of wisdom that I obtained:

misery loves company
Fellow sufferers make unhappiness easier to bear, as in She secretly hoped her friend would fail, too—misery loves company. Words to this effect appeared in the work of Sophocles (c. 408 b.c.) and other ancient writers; the earliest recorded use in English was about 1349.

I didn't know that it was first used in 1349 in the English language. Could be a quiz question! LOL...humble carl
