AAPL- Anyone who has followed high tech for a long time knows Apple's fortunes have risen and fallen several times, independent of Microsoft and the IBM PC. In fact, they have suffered at the hand of "wintel."

Yet, I don't doubt that the Apple information has leaked out--for example to Microsoft, where many former Apple employees work. This would explain stock action in some stocks lately, where good news has been largely ignored.

Nick--Agreed..AAPL's issues ARE independent. Moreover, did any of those people who dumped the Windows/other platform techs because of Apple's problems consider for even one second that maybe, just maybe, Apple was losing market share?

Knee jerk is too deliberate a term to characterize this market... it clearly looks for any reason to sell.

Meanwhile, CSCO went up on a DOWNGRADE. Go figure.
