Look at this long-term chart--Apple and Microsoft have historically traded completely out of sync (1996-1998). With good reason--they are in direct, opposing competition.

I find it amazing that poor sales of a non-Wintel PC would affect the stocks of Microsoft and the IBM PC companies. A year or two ago, the market would have acted smarter

Then again, this is only after-hours trading.

I believe the information about Apple also leaked out to Motorola...

Yeah but, what's changed *there? It's just a relative result. PC earnings numbers are coming in short. -JCJ
