With AAPL at $29 on Q3 of $0.33, AMD should be good for $50 on Q3 of $0.62 or better!!! I can't overlook the possibility of a kneejerk reaction by AMD tomorrow AM though!!!

<<Wow! AAPL down to 29 3/4 on Island (per Yahoo real-time ECN,) after closing up 4 9/16 to 53 1/2 at regular close. >>

I fear that's what's in store for AMD if they don't deliver the goods on Oct. 11th - and I mean not just in terms of earnings numbers, but also in terms of processors shipped, given how solidly and boldly they 'bragged' about the 3.6 number at the CC and in their reiterations of guidance. Seems to me a great opportunity to differentiate themselves from Intel and other semi-related companies by bucking the trend and making/exceeding their numbers, and let's hope they get rewarded for it if they do. But if they disappoint, the knives seem awfully sharp on the street these days. I still think their MIA pr department should've said something when Intel announced the Q3 warning - I think information management is an important part of the game these days, in addition to fundamentals. But what do I know - just my 2 cents. If I was such a predictions genius, would I have been loading the boat with AMD all these months?
