Darrell, great post, as usual. But I'm not ready to buy the idea that big population is the holy grail. India I buy but because of a high native intelligence.

Darell: It is Oracle and CPQ's DEC who started India's Tech revolution. Oracle went early and heavy into India. So did DEC. That is why CPQ has a good presence there. Data General remains are only in India. Dell will be foolish, if he thinks he can do well in India with a few chips. India is the next US. And a lot less bias for local origins than chinese.
If the kid gets creative he can grow 100% a year in India, and add engineering capabilities to Dell very economically.
One more thing I won't be surprised if Indians don't own more shares in Dell than the kid himself.
