Didn't the FED last raise rates in July? Seems it was rather late in the year. Anyway, if the FED lowered rates Oct 3, the political pundits would make a lot of "to do" about that just one month before the elections.

It seems that with higher energy costs, that also helps sloowwww down the economy, so a raise in rates doesn't seem to be in the offing. I would suspect that the FED will begin to lower rates some, after the election. It will be interesting to see how much they lower rates, and if we see rate lowering helping raise the NASDAQ etc. reverse of the cooling of "irrational exuberance".
