besides, if the PC sector is done for, then we'll just buy more financials...good ole PVN or the new big house of fancy derivatives, CMB/JPM...after all, everybody knows that nothing can go wrong with those...right?

i notice corporate credit spreads still have that air of bankruptcy about them...perhaps a few coupons need to be passed in that arena...best begin in junk bond land, i'm sure there are eager sellers...

Oh, wise up. There have been so many stakes in the heart of PC land that it looks like a pin cushion. Slow bleed is the best you can expect.

Luc:

I must admit that the Apple announcement has caused a tiny grin to sneak across my visage.

To give them their due, the frankness (sales suck everywhere) is refreshing.

The breadth of acceptance of the N.Y analysts' outright lie (that things would be fine this fall in semi/PC land) left me breathless this past summer, when the conditions in the field were so visibly horrific.

I too think the Apple news cuts this rally off at the knees. There has simply been too much damage done during this "warnings" period and there are now just too many institutional sellers around. Sure they are trying to be stealthy, but when the exits get crowded,......

Best, Earlie
