Off topic, sort of.

>>Hi Humble One and Thread,
RE: "This has been a wicked downturn. Intel for the month of September was down 41%. This could turn out to be the second largest downturn in Intel's history. ...In the period between 10/7/87 and 10/26/87, Intel went down 56%. That must have been the largest downturn ever."<<

If memory serves, it is to be noted that during this period, the Dow, which was at ~2700 dropped ~900 points in 2 days, Friday and Monday, to ~1900. The prime rate was on its way down from a high of 21.5% or was it 24% (sic), Congress had just passed the "Tax Reform Act of 1986" which severely reduced business and eliminated real estate depreciation, inflation was rampant, although not reflected in Government Statistics and the "Savings and Loan Protection Act" (?) had just been passed which put 70% of the Country's Savings and Loans out of business.

Oh, and I almost forgot, AMD was making the fastest processor anybody would ever need. :)
