Getting along generally includes toleration, a relativist principle. In order to be tolerant you have to accept that other points of view are valid. As a practical matter, it is hard to accept all view points

I stand to be corrected, but I don't think it makes sense to speak of a relativist principle (agreed upon for or by what reason?). If relativism is a moral construct, for cooperative and tolerant behaviour, then to what does it appeal when it becomes necessary to resolve the relative differences between people or nations, because the membrane of relativism is all elastic? If your truth is different than mine, why would I sacrifice my relative beliefs to embrace yours?

If you take positive action you become an absolutist? Is that like when you push your child out of the path of a speeding car? Do you mean a relativist wouldn't do this?

I like your last line about moderation! LOL
