On the contrary , i think it very wryly appropriate.

we are too much in love with spectacle,
and so often lose the capcity to experience
the subtle essences that comprise
any devotion, compassion or love.

entire lives are wasted watching
games and cicusses.

Is it just our business on earth to
be "entertained"? But hey, even wrestlers can
become governors , and actors can become presidents.
Did you see the movie "The Gladiator"?

imagine the ancient cretans and their
bull flyers. To run at the bull head on
and catch the horns flying over the bull's head.
Such sport !

But it can be easily interpreted as elan vital,
bravery courage, strength, and love of the skills
of competition. Most games are psychological scaled down mock wars, without the death and fear.

;-))

PS:* i have a small weakness for woman's
beach volleyball. Very esthetic
and powerful to see them flying thru the air, and
focussed . Grew up on many beautiful beaches myself.
A very fun game!
