Suezmax rates bolstered - huge increase in West Africa
Activity from the Turkish Mediterranean port of Ceyhan and from the Black Sea increased slightly this week and this combined with the tight tonnage position for mid-October stems to push Med/Med rates up to W240. In West Africa a 250% increase in fixtures this week has seen the market strengthen with rates up from W180 to W198 for USAC discharge.

It's becoming apparent that the spr release is not slowing tanker demand.
