Well, OK then twister, since no one here seems to know what a P/E ratio is, except you, I'm going to try and figure it out empirically. You said:

I've never seen anyone so excited to see the p/e of a stock they own be at 107. <G>

So this means that a low P/E ratio is better for holders of a stock? Wow! Microsoft stockholders must be ecstatic that their P/E ratio is 1/3 that of SUNW.

Hey thread! What can we do about getting our P/E ratio back below Microsofts? Should we raise this issue at the November shareholders meeting? I personally want to know what Scotty is doing about this travesty of a P/E ratio.

I personally prefer stocks who's P/E ratio is greater than their price: don't ask me why, I just do OK. This strategy has done really well for me, especially right after a stock split: in this situation I find a whole load of stocks whose P/E ratios are higher than their prices, and I load up! So whatever a P/E ratio is, I'm really all for them.
