I agree... and given the narrow niche AAPL plays in and their cap calling them a tech leader is simply irresponsible journalism.

You know what was funny. This morning I turned on CNBC and this fellow was guest hosting from Fortune. They were talking airline stocks - a sector I know NOTHING about. He asked Joe, David, and Mark which airline they thought had the highest market cap in the world. The first thought that immediately came to my mind was SWA.... But Mark, David, and Joe are off on AMR this, UAL that, BA this...on and on. They must have mentioned 20 different airlines and didn't even get close. Of course the answer was SWA - I was right... pure luck but somewhat educated because I'm not a foolish spewing talking head. I do pay attention... it's clear they do not.

Don't mis-understand me.. I'm not suggesting that I have any knowledge of these things or that I'm better than anyone here on SI.. but it's clear that David, Joe, and Mark - who profess to be so knowledgable are simply talking heads and don't have time to do any real dd. They are fluff journalists.

yes, they have me irritated this morning. And to think I've defended them in the past.
