Do you suppose the industry's embrace of PC133 was the event Intel didn't anticipate? Was Intel counting on comparisons to PC100 in Benchmarks?

The arrival of PC133 coincided with Intel bumping the speed of the PIII bus up from 100MHz to 133MHz. The Speed of mainstream DRAM has always been tied to the speed of Intel's bus.

Intel was hoping to do the same with P4, but they seem to have jumped on the wrong horse.
