SUBJECTS, NOT CITIZENS THE AL JOE HILLARY... SOCIALIST AGENDA

As the United States progresses farther and farther toward a total socialist state, we are becoming vassals, to be ruled by an elite group who are convinced that they know our needs and will provide for them. The ignorance of many people is appalling. While history shows that socialism is a failed philosophy, which, in the long run, is destructive of liberty and freedom, people persist in the idea that government is giving them something for nothing and vote for those who promise the most goodies. The Democrats, who can now be classified properly as Socialists, gain power and votes by emphasizing class warfare, declaring that they are for the working people and against the rich and powerful. They convince people that by taking from the "haves" to give to the "have-nots" that a more just and equitable society is created. They ignore the fact that this methodology penalizes the productive, whose efforts have been responsible for the wealth that the nation presently enjoys. They also neglect to mention that government cannot create wealth, but can only possess it by taking from those who earned it. They also neglect to tell you that administrative costs for the bureaucrats to administer the programs that steal from the rich to give to the poor consume much of the money that is stolen and only a small percentage goes to those they profess to want to help.
Many seem to be advocates of the kind of government created by the Soviet Union back in the 1930s. They have adopted much of what was part of the Constitution of the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Article 120 of said Constitution reads as follows: "Citizens have the right to maintenance in old age and also in case of sickness or loss of capacity to work. This right is ensured by the extensive development of social insurance for workers and employees at state expense, free medical service for the working people and the provision of a wide network of health resorts for the use of the working people." Sounds like our local socialists have adopted the foregoing policies which helped make the Soviet Union one of the most impoverished nations in the world.
Article 121 states that, "Citizens have the right to education. This right is ensured by universal compulsory elementary education, including higher education, being free of charge; by the system of state stipends for the overwhelming majority of students in the universities and colleges . . ." Is this not very similar to the education policies promoted by the Democrats? Was this helpful to the citizens of the Soviet Union in helping to create a better way of life?
Article 118 guarantee citizens "the right to work, that is, are guaranteed the right to employment and payment for their work in accordance with its quantity and quality. The right to work is ensured by the socialist organization of the national economy, the steady growth of the productive forces of Soviet society, the elimination of the possibility of economic crisis, and the abolition of unemployment." This provision wasn’t exactly a howling success for the people of the Soviet Union!
Another article of the Soviet Constitution seems to be a blueprint for what the liberal democrats want for America. This is article 122 which states: "Women in the U.S.S.R. are accorded equal rights with men in all spheres of economic, state, cultural, social and political life. The possibility of exercising these rights is ensured to women by granting them an equal right with men to work, payment for work, rest and leisure, social insurance and education, and by state protection of the interests of mother and child, pre-maternity leave with full pay, and the provision of a wide network of maternity homes, nurseries and kindergartens." While one cannot quibble with equal rights for women, the liberals seem intent on providing for the special privileges as stated above -- "pre-maternity and maternity leave with full pay . . ."
These rights, as outlined in the Soviet Constitution, are so alien to what the founders envisioned that one wonders if our Constitution really has any credibility at all with the thinking of those on the left. Our Bill of Rights tells pretty much what were considered rights by those who framed the Constitution for our nation and this did not include cradle to grave care and really did not guarantee much more than "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." To insure these rights we were guaranteed freedom of religion, freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, the rights against unreasonable search and seizure, the right to not be witnesses against ourselves, not being denied the right to life liberty and property without due process of law and the prohibition of property being taken for public use without just compensation. We were also guaranteed a speedy and public trial in criminal prosecutions and by an impartial jury of the state where the crime was committed. Excessive bail was prohibited and cruel and unusual punishment could not be inflicted. We were also guaranteed other rights not specifically mentioned. Then to make things a bit more clear the Tenth Amendment reserved all rights not specifically granted to the Federal Government, to the states and the people. We had a couple of other important amendments that gave women the right to vote and outlawed slavery and guaranteed the same rights to all, regardless of race, color or previous condition of servitude.
It was an outlandish idea that government could take from some to give to others. This was absolutely not envisioned by the founders. The Bill of Rights was especially designed for denying power to the federal government and recognized the natural rights of people, not granted by government but by God. The Federal Government was to be a government established with the idea of deriving its just Powers from the Consent of the Governed.
When the people and legislators respected the Constitution, the United States became the envy of the world with an astounding ascent to being the wealthiest industrial nation on earth, and this from the humble beginning of being a primarily rural nation. With the advent of Franklin Roosevelt and the establishment of the idea that government should become all things to all people it was discovered that power could be obtained and maintained by promising people benefits which made them dependent upon government for their very existence and they became complacent and adjusted quite well to being vassals of an all-powerful "Big Brother" who exempted them from personal responsibility for their welfare, instead, providing "bread and circuses" to keep them content in their slavery.
If this life of being cared for by a paternal government which restricts freedom and relieves you of the responsibility for your own well-being is what you desire, go ahead and vote for the liberals, but if you respect the ideas of those who established our Constitution, you had better vote for conservatives. While those on the right have felt it was necessary to adopt many of the socialist principles in order to get enough votes to be elected, many are fighting against this socialist take-over. In the short haul, folks may think that they never had it so good, but in the long run, if we allow the liberal/socialists to have their way, this great experiment in freedom will be ended and it can spell nothing but disaster and the total destruction of what had become the most just and happy society ever conceived. Our fate is in the hands of the people and their understanding of the implications of the continued socialist agenda of Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, Joe Leiberman and all those other socialists on the left who believe so strongly that big government has all the answers to what ails America. |
