"Feeling good, Billy Ray,"

Whenerver I put a car in storage for brief periods, like antiques, I use a small trickle-charge type device called "Battery-Tender". It may have a chip in it, for it senses when the battery is under-charged or evenly charged and adjusts it's output accordingly. I purchased three several years ago and got a discount, but I think it's a $69 item.

No good for bringing a battery up to power from dead, it cannot produce enough amps to overcome the nitrate spikes bridging the plates. But for maintenance between vehicle operation of greater than a few weeks the cracker works splendidly. Of course, if I were to put the car up indefinitely then I'd just yank out the battery.

I believe I found it in an advertisement in an Antique Auto mag I get if you are interested.

The Suburban always did seem like a good choice for people going that route.

(Whoops, out of the Swiss Franc at 58^45)

I have a friend who has the big sucker, Yukon? That and the Ford thing, Expedition? Way too big for me. I'm just considering one of them as a replacement, or "utility", car. The only reason a SUV or whatever they are called is an option is because it gives me a chance to play my hunch that that type of car will be dropped in price due to the price of fuel.

It's always a game with me. I need a SUV like I need a camel. But as long as I can get myself one as a prize for guessing right then why not. I do not care much for the Cadillac anyway so it's a great excuse.
