Now that I realize your Siebel exposure was entirely in LEAPS, did you consider exercising some the contracts? That would have dramatically limited your downside exposure while allowing you to keep some upside opportunity in your portfolio. And for the exercised contracts, you also would not have incurred any tax consequences.

one good thing about selling was that I got rid my margin and I have money left over to purchase more gorillas.

I am glad you sold if it got you off margin. One pretty standard rule with most of us is:

DON'T MARGIN!
