Chic,
I doubt it had anything to do with that. Timna was going to be used with SDRAM anyway due to its price point. The cancelation has more to do that Timna was a slow integrated CPU without a market that needed it. It was going to come out first at very slow speeds. I'm sure that Intel saw that they weren't going to sell any of them and canceled it. Timna, for some reason, always reminded me of Cyrix.

Hi chic_hearne; Timna being cancelled is old news. It's already been factored into the stock price. It was going to be with SDRAM anyway. This isn't another example of Intel backing away from Rambus stuff. The P4 being late is just a short delay so that Intel doesn't miss the big profits that they are currently making by shipping all those 1.13GHz processors with i840 boards. Sony being unable to produce enough PS/2 is because of demand, it has nothing to do with it being specified to use an allocated niche memory.

Get on the bus now, when it leaves the station you're going to be wish you were long, and on margin, too!
