Hardly. The problem is that you can't sell a $599 computer with $200 worth of DRDRAM. Or even $100.

others have plans for the $200-300 type devices that may not need a Intel microprocessor.

I'm sure Intel would like it to be an Intel processor <G>. Apparently Timna was not the right answer, though.
