Hi all; BIG NEWS: sylvester80 reverses self on Timna!!!

Sep 18, 2000
With a 15% overall penalty in 2001 over SDRAM, you better believe it that RDRAM will continue to penetrate deeper and deeper into the mainstream and value market segments. I expect that will start to be felt with the 256Mb part production during 1st quarter of 2001. And guess what? Timna production is coming on line during the same time. What a coincidence ;-) #reply-14402832
Pentium 4 with a balanced bus and RDRAM will be here in only a few weeks and Timna shortly after that. #reply-14403556

I expect by mid-2001, RDRAM to have reached price parity within 5% with SDRAM and to be starting to penetrate new market segments with the P4 and Timna as 256Mb dies present granularity problems for SDRAM. #reply-14409208 [This prediction from a guy who has to admit that he doesn't know the first thing about the technology involved.]

With 256Mbit part coming on line, Timna, lower RDRAM prices in 2001 and the granularity advantage of RDRAM over SDRAM with 256Mb part, will play a big role on the low end as well. #reply-14424963

Timna will do very good RDRAM business in 2001. Thanks for caring ;-) #reply-14433009

The Pentium 4 is only a few weeks away from reality. Timna the same. #reply-14443530

That's not counting all the new servers or all the new Timna systems. #reply-14462519
Many more to follow with Timna. #reply-14462632

To tell you the truth, I'm glad to see Timna go. I never understood what Intel had in mind when they came up with Timna. #reply-14481735 [The truth now??? So what was it that you were saying before? LOL!!!]

Timna was going to be used with SDRAM anyway due to its price point. #reply-14481825
