Intel Investors,

OK, what do you think? Do you still have faith in the management of this company?

I'm at a loss for words.

John

RE:"OK, so whattaya want, a business analysis on cancellation of a product that was in design? How does it affect the bottom line? Any writeoffs that would hit the bottom line? Might be looked at as a net positive because resources can be put onto other products, both headcount and fab? You tell me. Business oriented folks have an opinion?"

Timna was a lot further along that a design...
The positive is they ditched it and stopped the bleeding.
They will take the write off and move on. The other downside is that this makes Intel look even more inept.
Now they can use that fab space to pump out more low margin X-box P-III chips...
With Itanium delayed and P4 too plus tied to Rambus...looks like the P-III will have to carry the torch for a while longer.

Jim

Tony,

OK, so whattaya want, a business analysis on cancellation of a product that was in design? How does it affect the bottom line? Any writeoffs that would hit the bottom line? Might be looked at as a net positive because resources can be put onto other products, both headcount and fab? You tell me. Business oriented folks have an opinion?

How about looking at the current and recent projects that had the resources withdrawn from them in order to pursue Timna?

Joe
