LG Electronics Selects Sage's Jaguar 200 Display Processor for Top-of-Line Flat Panel TV/Monitor
SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct 02, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Oct. 2, 2000-

The Jaguar 200 Provides Superior Picture Quality Best
Suited for Large Screen Monitors

Sage Inc. (Nasdaq: SAGI chart, msgs), a leading provider of digital display processors, announced today that LG Electronics, one of the world's largest monitor manufacturers, selected the Sage Jaguar 200 display processor for use in the world's first production-quality 22-inch Wide SXGA (WSXGA) flat panel monitor for the Korean market.

The wide-screen flat panel monitor from LG Electronics (model:FLATRON LCD 285LT) uses the Sage Jaguar 200 display processor at a very high resolution of 1600 x 1024 pixels (16:10 aspect ratio). The Jaguar 200 is an extremely integrated solution that provides high-quality scaling and high-bandwidth processing required for large panels, advanced video features and multiple input capabilities.

LG Electronics has been in the forefront of introducing the highest quality products to the monitor market. With the incorporation of Sage's Jaguar 200 display processor, LG Electronics' first large-screen monitor is enhanced with superior scaling and provides advanced features best suited to a large-screen monitor.

"The selection of the Jaguar 200 by an important industry leader such as LG Electronics for their best flat panel monitor sets a new benchmark in the area of high-resolution flat panel displays," said Chandra Reddy, president and CEO of Sage. "This is great news for Sage since the Jaguar family of display processors were introduced in April this year. It has since gained great traction in the market and has been cherry-picked by major flat panel monitor manufacturers for inclusion in their monitors."

Sage's Jaguar 200, the world's fastest (200 MHz) display processor, is optimized for high-resolution flat panels such as those manufactured by LG Electronics. The Jaguar 200 display processor uses Sage's third-generation scaling algorithms and supports analog, digital and video input for resolutions up to WSXGA. Its advanced features include a highly flexible OSD, de-interlacing and Picture-in-Picture (PIP), allowing the viewer to use the display as a simultaneous two-in-one PC monitor and TV for maximum flexibility.
