you're probably right...a market rescue operation via the futures has begun about 20 minutes ago. GP looks like it has made a clean 5 waves down. a retracement rally could well be in the offing.

note though, that the market is liable to be hit with even more high profile earnings warnings. not to mention a possible negative PPI/CPI surprise. as Les has pointed out, the recent admission by BLS that past numbers have to be restated is likely partially motivated by the need to camouflage a real bad set of data coming up next time around. today's Chi PMI was a red flag in that regard.

the next PPI/CPI release occurs btw. near a projected cycle bottom. the new moon may be relevant for gold this time...
