I do not think that it is a coincidence that the few times the market has performed poorly over the past two decades, one party was in control of the the Legislative and the Executive branches.

mishedlo, That way they can accomplish NOTHING! But NOTHING may be best because any attempts to fix anything usually just screw things up worse. No, we certainly accomplish things, we just don't put in extreme solutions, which are the ones that usually screw things up worse. For the last 6 years we've had a balanced system and I doubt few would claim we haven't made progress, just maybe not as much progress as zealots would like (and we all have individual issues that we're zealous about).
