Cirrus-- Re: Now it is just Duron vs. Celeron

I think it will be more like Copper-gone versus Duron and Willenium versus Athlon Pro. Timna has been cancelled because in the time-frame it would have been released, it wouldn't have had anything to compete against-- it would have been way below equivalent Durons in terms of performance, and given the required expenses of a 17" monitor and printer, I don't think a $20 savings from cpu/graphics integration would have convinced any substantial number of people to take half the overall performance.

RE:"Damn, Jim! You were right! jajaja

This CANCELLATION lessens the amount of FUD AMD will have to deal with next year, which is always a good thing. We won't have to read about analysts saying Timna will take away Duron sales."

Oddly enough this will help Intel in the long run...they get another Albatross from around their neck...better now than later...
An Itanium cancellation would be a much tougher decision. I think it will limp on...
