All of the current disasters -- Rambus, P4, Itankium, Timna -- were started by Andy and were run into the ground by his trusted friend Albert Yu.

Poor old Craig was left holding the bag.

Hey, chill.

Running Intel means running a 30+ Billion dollar deal. that's maybe what 250 Million a day per 8 hour day.

That's more money than you make in a week!

Barrett is a manufacturing guy, specifically chosen, BECAUSE of the known manufacturing challenges Intel will have been facing.

Intel's decisions on Rambus are based on the fact that it will be a major change, on the assumption that the current bus megahertz wars are just not all that significant an improvement. The difference between 66 and 100 is maybe 2 or 3%. Cost effectiveness has to be taken into consideration.

And, when the Fed raises the interest rates it does tend to slow things down, a little.
