It appear Intel is being very careful but RAMBUS must be sleeping with one eye open. If they try to charge more royalty for DDR or SDRAM than for Rambus...they will hang themselves from an antitust cross.

Rambus asserts that they have patents that cover both SDRAM and DDR. Apparently, the patent claims involve using the rising and trailing edges of a clock pulse to transfer data. Of course there are more details than that in the dispute.

Of course they also have patents that cover RDRAM.
