PS I sold Oct 95$ covered calls on all my long sndk at 90 and I'm still afraid that by Oct 20 I will lose those shares. Silly not to cover I guess but I'm greedy.

Aus - people are probably going to upgrade their
PC only so many times before they realize that
there isn't just that much that is earth shatteringly
new and exciting.

1. AApll issued the warning ( and what a warning it was massive dorpin earnigns and revenue growth huge, unbelievable ...just over $150 in how many $bn? IMHO AAPL had a small miss te drop is absurd) not Dell, CPQ or HWP or Gateway. Apples are very expensive in my view. I was going to buy one to do digital video editing but when you get down to it the store advises that you need a top of the line G4 with all the bells and whistels and fancy video card etc. That is big money and even though I can afford it I quite frankly balked at the ide of having to pay that amount. It is a fantastic computer but its just over the top price wise. I'll bet I'm not the only one. When oyu think what you can get for $1,000 or so in a PC. Its all price in my view.

2. So far as PCs go its not so much individuals its government and corporations and these people do change their PC's every few years.

3. So far as being borwed by lack of innovation the palce where that is is mobile phones but that is about to change for ever when the QCOM 1X chip comes into service offering 144Kbps on mobile phones. It will also change PCs and Handhelds. All will have built in wireless access to the web at a speed three times faster than 56Kbps modems which is how most people access the web today.

The mobile phones and the palmhelds are going torequire loads of CF and MMC more than we can imagine today ( and we do have big imaginations don't we!)

Best regards,

L
