DELL-AMD Rumors : LOL!!!! Elmer was damn right!!!

I called it 8 hour ago:
P4-Delay : mmm... guess it's the time to start a new wave of the cyclical Dell-AMD rumors (TM Elmer?)
Message 14478767;

Forget about Dell : they're in love with Intel. Barett told Mickey he would no longer sleep with him if he order AMD chips.

EricRR:

Believe it...Dell no longer has any choice...Too bad they didn't act on their suspicions back in Q1...Their negotiating powers would have been much greater then...AAPL's and INTC's trump hands have been exposed over the past week and they came up deuces...AMD is still holding their trump cards close to their chest...I won't be surprised if AMD's hand holds a trump royal flush!!! I think we might get a glimpse of the strength od AMD's hand on Oct. 11...

Eric,

<More Dell and AMD rumors:

This guy is close to Taiwanese motherboard companies:>

It is a safe bet that Dell and AMD are in furious talks as we discuss this topic. However, I wonder if Intel dragged its customers too far into the season to make a cut-over to the competitor. (In that sense Willamette may have been very successful so far)

Unless Dell has been already evaluating AMD chips for the last month or so, there is no way they can do their own boxes before Christmas (Dell could resort to some other OEM/ODM though but I don't think that is typical Dell operating model on PCs). I really wonder if Michael was able to pull his head out of sand in time to make the right decision.
