Great link with tons of info - thanks! I spent some time in Best Buy yesterday putting some of the Palms, Handsprings and the iPaq through their paces. Unfortunately I knew a lot more than the salesperson, but I was still impressed by the range of features on the iPaq. Not the capability to run word/excel, but the PDA features. I liked the iPaq's color screen too, but I'm not sure how important that is for the mobile professional. What kind of battery life do you get from your iPaq? The only drawback I saw was the internet connectivity via a cell phone, which needed a rather bulky cable connector like this one:

Maybe there are simpler options, but this is inelegant compared with the Palm VIIx (IMO). But once CPQ integrates the cell phone function into the iPaq case, it'll be real competition for Palm in the enterprise space, if it's not already. CPQ has a lot of traction and an established presence there.

OTOH, I feel the iPaq is going to be tough sell to the price minded consumer - the BB salesperson sold four M100's, a couple of Handsprings (one basic, one deluxe), a Palm Vx and a Palm VIIx in the hour and a half or so I was there. At least at that location, the M100 was the best selling consumer PDA.

It's going to be a real interesting year in this PDA market, right now I'm trying to figure out how much more of my investment $$ to plow into this space - I already have a ton of PALM, some CPQ, small amounts of HAND and SNDK, but there are a lot of opportunities here.
