On the contrary. Intellectual debate (in my opinion) offers ideas and criticisms so that a response is encouraged. Each person goes away with something new to consider instead of feeling like they "won". The poster which I placed on "ignore" harbours intense feelings of inadequacy, evident in the amount of personal information (s)he gave me about his/her work life. Did I say anything about his or adequacy in the workplace? Nope. But I got all kinds of "defensive" information about how good they are. That's really nice. The poster whom I placed on "ignore" also defended Solon to the extreme instead of just engaging in intellectual conversation. I found that just too wierd, bordering on "cult following". Sigh. What I have been trying to get across is that Solon is instigating hatred by saying hurtful generalizations about "believers", plain and simple. Solon is no better than those whom (s)he is pointing an accusatory finger at. canuck-l-head
